2018 – 2019: Team CNN Leaders
Participation in the leadership training club, Team CNN Leaders, during high school was a pivotal experience in my personal and professional development. This immersive program equipped me with essential leadership skills through interactive workshops, strategic planning exercises, and team-building activities. Engaging with community leaders and participating in service projects provided real-world applications for these skills, significantly enhancing my ability to communicate effectively, resolve conflicts, and lead initiatives.
Being part of Team CNN Leaders not only prepared me for future leadership roles but also instilled a deep sense of responsibility and a commitment to making a positive impact in my community. This experience has profoundly shaped my approach to challenges and opportunities, fostering a mindset geared towards collaboration, innovation, and continuous growth.
2019 – 2023: Tutoring in Mathematics, English, and German
Serving as a tutor in Mathematics, German, and English in my homeland was a deeply rewarding experience that honed my teaching and interpersonal skills. Through one-on-one and group tutoring sessions, I developed the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and tailor my teaching methods to suit individual learning styles. This role allowed me to foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment, helping students build their confidence and achieve their academic goals.
Tutoring also enhanced my communication skills, particularly in conveying ideas across different languages and cultural contexts. It reinforced my passion for education and my commitment to helping others succeed. This experience not only solidified my subject matter expertise but also underscored the importance of patience, empathy, and adaptability in effective teaching.
2021 – 2022: Teaching assistant at the Chi Thanh Tutoring Center, Vietnam
As a teaching assistant at the Chi Thanh Tutoring Center, I evaluated students’ exercises, consulted with parents on how to orient their children’s learning methods, and provided specific support to individual students when needed. By assessing students’ work, I ensured they understood the material and identified areas requiring further attention. My consultations with parents involved discussing effective learning strategies and addressing academic concerns, fostering a collaborative effort to enhance students’ educational experiences. Providing personalized support through one-on-one tutoring sessions and developing customized learning plans enabled me to meet each student’s unique needs and boost their confidence and academic skills.
This role significantly developed my skills in assessment, communication, and personalized education, enhancing my ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning needs and foster academic success. Additionally, it deepened my understanding of the importance of collaboration between educators and parents in supporting student development. This experience not only strengthened my educational skills but also instilled a greater sense of empathy and dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of students.
